Background

In the midst of studying French and Art History at MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGE in South Hadley Massachusetts, I discovered Design through a
requisite studio class. It was a thrill to find coursework centered on color, form, drafting and painting along with exposure to an entire creative career field. This new found passion prompted a transfer to the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, TWIN CITIES SCHOOL OF DESIGN where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Design and Visual Communication in 1991.

After taking some time to travel and live in SOUTH AMERICA,
I returned to MINNEAPOLIS to commence my career in the newly
formed TREND MERCHANDISING area of TARGET STORES as a TEXTILE
DESIGNER creating original artwork for their owned brand labels. COLOR STRATEGY, TREND FORECASTING, MERCHANDISING and INTERFACING
WITH MANUFACTURERS gave me the background and insight to launch my
own FREELANCE DESIGN STUDIO in 1994.

I have had the joy of working with a wide range of clients to create and refine their products with thoughtful and compelling design. Excellent communication skills paired with continued investment in computer aided design technology and equipment enable me to provide top notch service to clients all over the world from my Minneapolis studio.

TARGET, SANYEI AMERICA CORPORATION, ASSOCIATED MERCHANDISING CORPORATION, HARTMAN ASSOCIATES, JLBUCHANAN, THIMBLEBERRIES, KELLWOOD CORPORATION, and RJR FABRICS are just a few of the businesses I have had the privilege of working with over the years.
